WILDCRAFTING ON WET’SUWET’EN TERRITORY

Natu is a Wet’suwet’en medicine maker who lives and harvests on her home Gitumd’en (Bearwolf clan) territory which Smithers, BC resides on. Her products are locally Indigenous made from ethically harvested plant medicines and natural ingredients.

Natu’s company funds her Elders Medicine Program. Natu makes medicinal salves and teas from local plants such as devil’s club, spruce and poplar that she delivers to Wet’suwet’en elders in her community who have mobility and/or financial constraints.

Natu has learned from elders in her community and understands the importance of sharing the teachings with future generations. Natu has created workshops that she shares with her community, teaching Wet’suwet’en youth traditional harvesting and medicine making techniques.

Natu was born into the Gitumd’en (Bearwolf) clan from her Wet’suwet’en mother and is English and Scottish from her father.
